alloy wheel refurbishment Leeds

Powder Coating Finishes

The wheel once cleaned and prepared is placed in a pre-heat oven, where it is pre-heated to a set temperature for a set time length, this serves two purposes: the first is to drive as much gas out of the cast alloy as possible, and second to alloy a thicker and more even coat to be applied.

Upon pre-heating the base powder coat is applied using electrostatic methods, and the wheel is returned to the oven for part curing.

The colour range is vast and consists of the following:
  • Three shades of silver, Chrome, Standard Silver and Sparkle Silver
  • Three shades of anthracite or gun metal
  • Sparkle Gold
  • White and black (Gloss, Satin or Matt)
  • RAL and BS Colour Range
  • Special powders and finishes i.e. Metallic's, luminescent, oranges, textured, antiques, two tones and fade outs
Upon the part cure the wheel is removed and the lacquer/top-coat powder is applied using electrostatic methods, and the wheel is then returned to the oven for full curing. The lacquer colour range is:
  • Flat Lacquer
  • Snowflake Lacquer
  • Tinted Lacquers
Notes:

Samples are available in our show room for your viewing. Not all silvers are the same, and colour matching is difficult without seeing the wheel. Powder coat finished are applied to the whole wheel i.e. Front, Back and well faces. Powder finishes carry a twelve-month warranty.
